The Sanford Information Center is housed in the original Post Office built in 1917, this historic city-owned building is in the heart of vibrant Historic Downtown Sanford.

The Sanford Information Center provides information on area restaurants, stores, events and attractions to our visitors and travelers, information to our local businesses, as well as free lockers, public restrooms and free WiFi.

SANFORD MAIN STREET

Sanford Main Street’s mission is to preserve and enhance the historic charm and integrity of our community, while encouraging local spending, tourism, and a sense of community, which will improve the local economy.

SANFORD CRA

The Sanford Community Redevelopment Agency exists to revitalize and enhance the Sanford Downtown CRA District by strengthening economic vitality and livability.

SANFORD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Greater Sanford Regional Chamber of Commerce, Sanford, Florida linking partnerships and building business by providing the tools and resources and addressing challenges that face businesses. We provide networking and promotional opportunities for businesses throughout Seminole, West Volusia and Orange counties increasing chances for success.

SEMINOLE CULTURAL ARTS COUNCIL

The Seminole Cultural Arts Council (SCAC) is a catalyst for the preservation of local cultural and historic heritage, including performing, literary, visual arts and sciences; serving to sustain, develop and advance the cultural life of Seminole County.

Building History

This building was constructed in 1917 as a U.S. Post Office and has an intact original façade and two original lamp posts. James Wetmore was the supervising architect for the building. The Classical Revival building is constructed of red pressed brick trimmed in Georgia sandstone. In 1962, a new post office opened nearby and this building became the Sanford Library. Today, the building is home to the Sanford Information Center. Come on down and do some #Sanfording

Free Trolley

The City of Sanford’s Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) provides a free downtown trolley service. The Sanford trolley provides transportation between the Sanford SunRail station and Historic Downtown Sanford. See the schedule in the Sanford Visitors Guide.

 

The CRA also provides a free shuttle from the Amtrak Auto Train to the Sanford Information Center Monday – Saturday.
